Internship Program

If you are a current undergraduate or graduate student at SJSU or CSU East Bay, the SVDFL provides year-long (two-semesters) internships which satisfy degree requirements. Students work alongside faculty and industry professionals as a technical or research intern. Don't miss out on this chance to kickstart your journey in the world of digital forensics.

Internship Requirements

  • Completed FS 12 - Introduction to Digital Evidence Investigations

  • Two-semester commitment

    • Course credit received during second semester

  • Complete training program

  • Pass police background check

Technical Internship

Technical internship students will receive training on the various software and procedures utilized within the field of digital forensics. After completing training, students will work alongside our experienced staff processing digital devices (e.g. mobile phones) from criminal and non-criminal cases to identify key investigatory information.

Coding

Research internship students will contribute to cutting-edge research being conducted at SVDFL. Students will collaborate with industry experts to make meaningful contributions to on-going or new research that advances the field of digital forensics. Students can apply for a $3,000 stipend through SJSU's Student RSCA initiative while completing their internship.

  • Can apply for $3,000 SJSU student RSCA fellowship
